How to Use CBD Oil for Skin Care

What are the benefits of hemp oil for skin?

Hemp Oil also known as CBD oil is the new kid on the block in the beauty industry. This ingredient is popping up in products everywhere, especially cosmetics and skincare. But is it just a trend?  In this post, you will learn about CBD, the benefits of CBD oil for skincare, and how to incorporate CBD oil into your current skincare routine.

There are so many benefits that CBD oil offers, it will be a staple in the industry for years to come. This is why companies are investing and adding CBD to new products.

What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is derived from hemp plants. It is one of over 100 cannabinoids that are found in a hemp plant.

Cannabinoids can be ingested from an outside source, known as phytocannabinoids, or produced by the body naturally, endocannabinoids. Cannabinoids interact with the body’s endocrine system, which affects our mood, appetite, sleep, and manages homeostasis.  Even though

CBD naturally elevates your endocannabinoids and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects, help control epilepsy, provide pain relief, help with anxiety/depression, and many other benefits. New research is constantly being done.

The Skin Care Benefits of CBD Oil

The antioxidants in CBD oil help protect the skin from environmental stressors. This helps to slow down the aging process and keep skin from looking dull.

CBD has a high concentration of the fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6. These are essential for healthy and youthful-looking skin. They also help to maintain the flexibility of the cell membrane and retain moisture in your skin.

Studies seem to show that CBD oil has beneficial effects on the skin and so people are studying to see if it can treat skin disorders such as dry skin, eczema, and psoriasis. The beneficial effects are mainly due to the moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties of the oil. It is also used in many skincare products that are supposed to help prevent the skin signs of aging, provide moisture, and treat acne.

Psoriasis and Acne Treatment

The pain-relieving effects in addition to the anti-inflammatory qualities of CBD oil are what helps with skin disorders. Psoriasis, for example, has shown positive results when treated with CBD oil. This chronic condition that speeds the life cycle of skin cells and causes itchy, rough, and scaly skin, is usually treated with steroids. CBD offers a natural option by helping to slow down the life cycle of skin cells, reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and help improve the condition of the skin.

CBD oil also works as a superior alternative to other acne treatments, such as retinoids, peroxides, or acids. CBD is able to regulate the production of oil by sebaceous glands and treat inflammation. This fights two main parts of acne with one treatment. CBD is a better option than retinoids, which can also treat acne in multiple ways but with negative side effects, such as dry, peeling skin, and inflammation before the acne gets better.

Products that contain CBD oil can also help to relieve pain. This gives a trendy alternative to the old-school Bengay. Many different formulations are available, from balms to lotions to salves. These topical treatments can help reduce swelling, pain, and inflammation.

How to Add CBD Oil to Your Skin Care

CBD oil can be found in almost any type of cosmetic and skincare product now. In fact, you could probably overhaul your entire daily and weekly routine with products that offer the benefits of CBD oil.

As we talked about above, this oil is offering so many benefits that other ingredients can’t. The best part of using CBD oil in your skincare routine is that it’s an all-natural ingredient, making it a great way to treat skin issues.

But if you aren’t ready to completely change your entire routine, we understand.

Nonetheless, there are certain CBD oil skincare products that will be more beneficial than others to add first. This is because they are going to absorb better into your skin, allowing you to fully reap all of the goodness that

comes from the natural CBD in hemp products.

Skin Care Serum from HYDROCanna

We would definitely recommend investing in a high-quality face serum that contains CBD oil. The serum is one of the first steps in a facial routine.  Here is an all-in-one skin care serum that is all-natural and derived from hemp.

Your face will love you for the smooth silkiness of this HYDROCanna face serum. When you buy this product, you can be assured of its quality because you will see the Certificate of Analysis that confirms it has been laboratory tested and is free of impurities.

Muscle and Joint Salve from Pachamama

If you are looking for topical pain relief but want a “trendier” option than smelling like your grandmother’s Bengay, a CBD-filled muscle and joint salve is the perfect choice. Even celebrities such as Olivia Wilde and Mandy Moore have expressed their love of using topical treatments for pain relief.

This salve is a sensual delight, rounded out with the creamy texture of shea and cacao butter, as well as lavender and peppermint essential oils that are a joy to unwind with.. Peppermint oil has a cooling effect, and lavender oil gives added pain relief. Essential oils are a great addition as they are able to penetrate the skin deeply and can aid in relieving tension not only physically but mentally.

Veritas Farm Moisturizer – Face, Body, and Hands

Using a moisturizing product with CBD oil allows you to take advantage of one of the greatest ways that it helps your skin, by retaining and locking in moisture, due to the fatty acids contained in the oil.  This moisturizer from the farm-to-table people at Veritas Farms contains lab-tested CBD as well as grapeseed oil, jojoba-seed oil, shea butter, and aloe.

There are many different moisturizers out there that claim to have CBD oil in them, but actually do not contain enough to provide a noticeable difference in your skin. Make sure to do your research! This will ensure that you are purchasing a quality product.

TIP: When applying to face and body, do not forget about your neck as this is one of the first places that shows age.

Another area of the body that shows age quickly is the hands. This is why a hand cream like this filled with CBD oil would be great to keep on your nightstand!

  1. Shammy Peterson

The best part of your blog is when you said that CBD oil works as an alternative to acne treatments. As you said, CBD is able to regulate the production of oil. This makes me consider buying a CBD-infused facial serum. Since May, I have been experiencing acne breakouts, and I could not find an effective way to clear my skin. The pimples on my face have been causing my insecurities, so I will be sure to consider your tips.
